Sunday Summary 29.01.17

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great week. I had a tough week in work, it was emotionally draining. I had a WONDERFUL day yesterday though so I feel much better now.

bookish-updates

Rebel of the Sands (Rebel of the Sands, #1)  Hard Choices  Traitor to the Throne (Rebel of the Sands #2)

Due to a few late nights last week, I didn’t read a huge amount but I did finish reading Rebel of the Sands in time for the event I went to with Alwyn Hamilton. Whilst I was there, I managed to scoop up an early finished copy of Traitor to the Throne which is going to be my next read. I also finally finished listening to the audio book of Hard Choices by Hillary Clinton. This book was super interesting and some parts left me feeling incredibly inspired.

recently-added

Traitor to the Throne (Rebel of the Sands #2)  Caraval (Caraval, #1)  RoseBlood

I just happened to inherit a couple of books this week (sorry book buying ban!). I already mentioned my early copy of Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton. I also got copies of Caraval by Stephanie Garber (EEEEK) and Roseblood by A. G. Howard. I am SUPER excited for Caraval, it’s unreal.

Sweetpea  Too Close to Home  Unconventional

I am SO happy to have been approved on Netgalley for Sweet Pea by C. J. Skuse, if you’ve followed my reviews for a while you’ll know I absolutely loved her book The Deviants last year. I also added two books to my tbr (although I have not bought them….yet!): Too Close to Home by Aoife Walsh and Unconventional by Maggie Harcourt. Both look brilliant!

challenge-updates

I finished a few books this week so I’ve made a bit of progress on my challenges, although #DiverseAThon did not go to plan so nothing to report on #DiversityBingo2017. Click the links to visit individual challenge pages.

book-of-the-week

Rebel of the Sands (Rebel of the Sands, #1)

I can’t believe that I let this book sit on my shelf for almost a whole year before reading it. I absolutely loved this book and Amani has definitely become one of my favourite fictional characters! My review will be up tomorrow.

on-the-blog

in-other-news

I had the best time yesterday going to the Girl Power in YA panel with my lovely friend Rosie. The panel was awesome: Katherine Webber, Alwyn Hamilton and Sarah Govett. It was a great evening and I was so overwhelmed by my interactions with Katie Webber who is one of the sweetest people I have met. The think to my post about the event is above.

  1. I pre-ordered Caraval as an ebook, and I literally cannot wait to have it! And I really want to read The Deviants as well!

This week, I posted my first ever discussion post called Is It REally TOO Much, my reviews for The Perfect Stranger and Blink, a movie review for The Girl on the Train, and WWW Wednesday!
