TOP 10 TUESDAY | Freebie: 10 Books I Think Everyone Else Has Read!

ttt

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and the Bookish. This week is a freebie. Usually this freedom would fill me with dread at the thought of making a decision but I recently made a list of old TTT posts in my journal that I’m going to post about so I picked one of those. I decided to list 10 books that I think everyone except me has read. Whilst I’m sure that’s not literally the case, these are all books that I think I’m in the minority with for not having read (yet)!

1. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

All the Bright Places

I own this book so there is absolutely no reason at all for me not having read it yet! I’ve heard wonderful things about this book.

2. Landline by Rainbow Rowell

Landline

I feel like I’m one of the few people in the YA universe not to have read all of Rowell’s books yet. I’ve read the others but I need to read this one soon.

3. ACOTAR and ACOMAF by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)  A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2)

I know, I know. In fact (as you will soon disover – see below), I have never read anything by Sarah J. Maas. I am sure this fact is simply unthinkable for some YA bloggers but despite owning both of these (cover love), I’ve still not read either of them!

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)

(See above). I got a copy of this in a trade last year but I still don’t know if I’ll ever actually read this series. Is it worth it? Especially now I am so many books behind on it!

5. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)

Yet another YA series that I thought I might get to in 2016 but didn’t. I think I will read this series one day but I just haven’t done that yet…

6. The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

The Sin Eater’s Daughter (The Sin Eater’s Daughter, #1)

Okay so I bought this and the second book in the trilogy just after Christmas and I am definitely planning on reading them this year. One of my trusty blogger friends loves these books and I also happen to know that Melinda herself is fab. I don’t need to be told twice to read this soon!

7. Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1)

I can’t remember why I didn’t read this last year, I know I bought it and got really excited and then I just didn’t get to it. (Can you see a pattern here?!) I’ve heard that this trilogy is worth a read.

8. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

We Were Liars

It is difficult to think of a reason why I haven’t read standalones yet…. Especially ones that I own two copies of. Oh dear. Anyway, I’ve heard great things about this book!

9. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

The Bone Season (The Bone Season, #1)

A lot of people over on Twitter are currently reading these books in preparation for the new release and I’m wondering if I should have joined them. I received this as a gift this year and I’m looking forward to reading it soon.

10. The Spinster Club by Holly Bourne

Am I Normal Yet? (The Spinster Club, #1)  How Hard Can Love Be? (The Spinster Club, #2)  What's a Girl Gotta Do? (The Spinster Club, #3)  ...And a Happy New Year? (The Spinster Club, #3.5)

I am actually ashamed to say that I have not read these books yet. I actually may be the only human left in the bloggerverse that has not read these. Does it help that I bought them all last year after seeing Holly at YAShot? No? Well I guess I’ll read them this year. I hear nothing but praise for these and given recent events I feel that they will be relevant and inspiring.

So there they are, the books that I possibly should have already read. I think the worst part is that I own most of them so I am genuinely struggling to find reasons as to why I haven’t read them yet. I guess these will come in handy for my Beat the Backlist challenge!!

lets-talk

Do we have any books in common?

Are you outraged at any of the books I still haven’t read?!

  2. I’ve only read half these books so I kinda feel like I’m half failing lol some of them were way better than I expected, I expected crashes and burns because of all the hype

      • That’s what I do sometimes. I just recently started reading Throne of Glass and I was really happy to find out the hype wasn’t for nothing. I’ve been enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would! ACOTAR was my first Maas book though and I loved it. I’ve also read All the Bright Places and thought it was really good, I’m looking forward to reading Holding Up the Universe. And I read Red Rising but only the first book in that series. It took close to 100 pages for me to get into it so I thought I was going to be disappointed but once it got into the action it was phenomenal!

  4. I have tons of books on my TBR list that so many of my friends swear by, but are low on my priority list. In the same vein, I’ve read tons of works that aren’t on their lists, so it goes both ways. Just do you and read what you want to read. Of course, there are more and more great books being published everyday, so we are all swimming in unread titles!

  5. The Raven Cycle and Red Rising are so good! I really hope you get a chance to read them soon. And the best part is, they’re both finished series, so you don’t have to wait for sequels to come out. 😉

  6. If it helps, I’ve not read most of these either! I’ve only read Throne of Glass (and then only just that one, not got around to reading the rest in the series yet). Most are also on my to-read list though but I just never got around to them.
